Rubber Duckie

Rubber Duckie                                                                                        Anas hevea

Anas hevea, commonly known as the Rubber Duckie, is pictured above in its usual habitat.  Found most frequently in the bathrooms, sinks, and bathtubs of humanity, it was immortalized by the poet Ernie, who sang, “Rubber Duckie, you’re the one, you make bath-time lots of fun, Rubber Duckie I’m awfully fond of you [boo boo be doo].”  Rubber Duckie is a constant and steadfast companion for humanity during bath-time, starting from a young age.  Rather than being left alone with one’s deepest and most private thoughts, one may turn to the Rubber Duckie to avoid thinking. Should you feel lonely and in need of companionship, “joy of joys, when [you] squeeze [it] [it] makes noise.”
