Xeriscaping is a word recreated from xeros (Greek for “dry”) and landscaping. It refers to a method in landscape that minimizes the water need by using drought-resistant plants in the garden.

It is recommended in regions that do not have easily accessible, plentiful, or reliable supplies of fresh water. Now it is suggested as an optimal urban landscape. It is not only able to tolerant the tough urban environment but also reduces the water consumption in the city.
