Applying Makeup for a Natural Look

Natural beauty seems to suggest a body and face free from alterations. I’d say alterations include surgery, makeup, and other intentional changes to the original form.

That being said, why is it that women feel the need to wear makeup to look “natural”? Truly, if this is the case, our perspective of what “natural” is could be quite flawed, as the appearance of a blemish would seem to ruin the idea of the natural flawless face of all models. Given this new assumption then, that “natural” means flawless face free from makeup, anything other than the ideal can no longer be natural. What kind of impossibly high standards are those?!

Natural makeup: a complete irony.
