Tree sculpture Bratus metallicus
This is a rather interesting tree specimen. Like any other trees it is composed of elements taken from the earth. This particular tree has a quartz base and its golden roots and trunk are intricately sculpted around it. Attached to the trunk are copper planes of leaves. All of these materials are mined from the earth and assembled together to resemble a bonsai tree. The artist created this sculpture to have a rather organic form; however, it is not at all organic in nature. It cannot grow, it cannot derive energy from the sun and it cannot reproduce itself. It does have an appealing artistic aesthetic, though, and it would make a great house plant for someone doesn’t have a green thumb.
