Mikel Uribetxeberria’s new series “Animalia” features animals placed into urban places.  Combining photographs he had taken from urban settings with photos of animals he had found from searching on the internet he was able to create interesting images.  As featured and mentioned in Photography Office, it is the portrayal of normality through the juxposition of the animals within an urban context that creates such interesting images as the animals featured seem to be unsettled from their environment.  Seeing them in these manmade settings, we see how far we have pushed our surroundings from a landscape we once shared with wildlife.
