Ravaged Earth Pervastant Terra
Guy Laliberté, the CEO and founder of Cirque du Soleil and also the seventh private citizen to go to space, has recently written and published a book about his two-week orbit. His 300-page book GAIA he addresses global issues of water on earth and the consequences of climate change on humans. Documented in his book are images including the melting Tibetan glaciers, the dried-up Algerian riverbeds, and the unrecognizable Euphrates River. Maybe by focusing on how climate change will affect people rather than our environment, people will be more willing to listen. Or maybe hearing it from a “space clown” rather than a scientist or researcher will raise more awareness. The facts remains the same, whether people want to believe it or not the world is in crisis and these images along with numerous others only support this. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but the only words reaching the public these days seem to be it can’t be that bad.
