A single leopard is believed to be responsible for the death of at least 15 people over the last 15 months in a small village west of Kathmandu in Nepal. About two thirds of the victims were small children.
The leopard selects its prey, attacks, and then carries the body into the forest to eat it, leaving the head behind. If we humans need any more reason to consume less cholesterol and sodium, consider this – a local ecologist stated that, “Since human blood has more salt than animal blood, once wild animals get the taste of salty blood they do not like other animals like deer.”
Other than the fact that humans have salty blood, and that it is irresistible to certain animals capable of getting a taste, we can imagine that such animals would have to be disturbed or provoked in the first place. Maybe this leopard’s children were recently kidnapped into lives of captivity, to be exhibits in a zoo or property of Mike Tyson.
