Anyone travelling through the music festivals this summer (I stumbled across it on an advertisement) was immersed in flowers and leaves and aquatic creatures. Not from tripping on acid, though that is possible, rather nature was to be found on everyone’s polyester button down shirts from Urban Outfitters or American Apparel.
During the invasion of teens for Lollapalooza, Chicago had never appeared more natural than before 1833. Colorful flowers paved the horizon rhythmically swaying to The Strokes.
I do not dislike teens, or The Strokes for that matter, but this phenomenon of wearing nature has clearly become a trend in our generation and yet this generation is perhaps the furthest removed from nature than any previous. It must be an inner yearning for a return to humanities natural ways. After the after party of course.
