Human vs. chimps

Why do we change our behavior when someone is watching us? Is that we feel that what we are doing is wrong or are we a shy species. This is something that has happened too many of us at some point in our lives. On the contrary a study done by Newcastle University found that Chimps don’t have that sort of behavior. Although chimps do adjust their behavior in the presence of an Alpha chimp; in the study were a large image on the wall was used there was no reaction. Humans were also put into the room with the large image; except they did change their behavior. This is very interesting how we were more affected by the image then the chimps were. Why did we feel that we had to adjust to the situation?
